the things we do go round and round
you churn things up you churn things down
without even thinking a baby will come
he sits on your lap and sucks on his thumb

don't feed him butter
you'll make him get fat
you won't want to be there
when things happen like that
you don't to hear somebody cry
the baby ate the butter and died

we learn how it works with our better halves
cows give milk after bearing their calves
farmers bring the mommas to stand in a line
while they pump out the milk like gold from a mine

now when there's a funeral, a wedding, or birth
a preacher will bless our toils on this earth
say your prayers morning and night
hope for the best and look for the light

so saute your onions with garlic real slow
use olive oil if you want the best glow
